Cytopathology also known
as the cytology is basically the branch of pathology in which doctors studies
and diagnoses diseases on cellular level. It is mainly used to cure and aid the
diagnosis of cancer, and also it helps in diagnosis of many infectious diseases
and inflammatory conditions as well as
thyroid lesions, and diseases that involves body cavities such as peritoneal,
pleural, and cerebrospinal, and also a wide range of other body sites.
Cytopathology is normally used on
samples of free cells or tissue fragments in contrast to histopathology, which
studies whole tissues and cytopathology tests are sometimes called smear tests
because the samples may be smeared across a glass microscope slide for
subsequent staining and microscopic examination. However, cytology samples may
be prepared in other ways, including cytocentrifugation the medical
science has developed so much that it cured many diseases and helping every
needy person in curing their diseases and saving their life.
